Ludwig Kaimer

Ludwig Kaimer is a Berlin-based industrial designer and product developer with a focus on furniture.

His passion lies in the task of merging esthetic appearance with smart product structure.
The design emphasis of all his projects differs greatly in the respective focus; curiosity for a specific production process, usability, semiotics etc. can be motor for his design process.

During his longtime work for the studio Laeufer & Keichel he was engaged in numerous collaborations with international brands like Kristalia, Zeitraum, Lammhults and more; as in-house designer for cybex he had been implementing the company’s furniture line. Besides realizing own designs he was working with Marcel Wanders Studio to develop the ‘cybex by Marcel Wanders’ collection.

As a member of the journeyman examination board for the apprenticeship of model makers, Ludwig Kaimer is involved each year in developing the final exams, as well as overseeing and supporting the exam candidates throughout the assessment process.
