Ludwig Kaimer is a Berlin-based industrial designer and product developer specialising in furniture design.

His work is driven by the ambition to unite aesthetic clarity with intelligent product architecture, creating designs that are both visually compelling and structurally refined.

His projects are characterised by a diverse range of design approaches. Whether inspired by a specific manufacturing process, user experience, or semiotics, each project is guided by a distinct research question and a deep curiosity for the relationship between form, function, and production.

Over the course of his career, Ludwig has collaborated with leading design studios, international brands and design-driven companies across the furniture and consumer products industries.

During his long-standing tenure at Läufer & Keichel, he contributed to numerous projects for renowned brands including Kristalia, Zeitraum, Lammhults, and others. His work encompassed design, product development from concept generation through industrial realisation, always balancing innovation, manufacturability, and market relevance.

As an in-house designer at the juvenile industry’s lifestyle brand Cybex, he played a key role in the development and implementation of the company’s furniture collection. In addition to creating original designs, he collaborated closely with Marcel Wanders Studio on the development of the Cybex by Marcel Wanders collection, translating the studio’s distinctive design language into commercially successful products.

Alongside his work for established brands, Ludwig develops independent projects and consults on product strategy, design development, and manufacturing processes.
